Everything is a stage for Dick Van Dyke, even the neighbourhood grocery store.
In Thursday’s CBS tribute show Dick Van Dyke 98 Years of Magic, Jane Seymour described how she happened upon the legendary Hollywood performer when he was entertaining at her local convenience store.
In 2018, Seymour, 72, and Van Dyke, 98, costarred in Buttons: A Christmas Tale. The last time the two friends were seen together was on Halloween, when they posed for a fun photo with actor Amy Manford and musician William Joseph.
In addition, Seymour said, “The Dick Van Dyke Show star does the most amazing Halloween haunted house you’ve ever seen.” It is an intense production. And it was, like, so freaking cool when I saw him there a few weeks ago.

The English actress and the legendary TV and movie star collaborated on the ultimate social media post that practically had fans screaming during that week as they got into the spooktacular spirit of the season.
Seymour said about Dick Van:
I would go to the neighborhood grocery store and see Dick Van Dyke approaching me while pushing a trolley,” she remarked. Naturally, I questioned whether it was indeed him, but as soon as he was surrounded by people, he would start to sing and dance.
Seymour went on, “I felt it was fantastic. However, when I returned the following day, he had returned, so I asked, “What’s going on?” “My wife always needs something,” he said. Wayne Van Dyke is an US actor and entertainer. He’s had been married with Arlene silver 2012.
His acting career has been in theater, television, and movies for more than 70 years. Van Dyke has received numerous honors. He received inductions into the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2012 and the Television Hall of Fame in 1995. He received recognition as a Disney Legend in 2021, the Kennedy Center Honors in 2021, and the Screen Actors Guild Life Achievement Award in 2013.

He played television comedy writer Rob Petrie in the sitcom “The Dick Van Dyke Show,” which helped launch his career on CBS. In addition to showcasing classic clips from Van Dyke’s career, including “Mary Poppins,” “Bye Bye Birdie,” “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang,” and more, the CBS birthday special will re-create the legendary set of “The Dick Van Dyke Show.” A holiday number, special guests, and music and dance performances will all be featured during the two-hour tribute event.

Van Dyke told PEOPLE that going to the gym three times a week—a habit his wife Arlene Silver highly recommends—is one of his secrets to staying mentally and physically sharp before his birthday on December 13.
Though it’s difficult to exercise, I believe I’m in better physical condition than most of my fellow nonagenarians, he said.
The famous person continued, saying he is still grateful and joyful “every day of my life.”

Silver, 52, and the 97-year-old Mary Poppins star first crossed paths in 2006 at the SAG Awards. At Van Dyke’s awards show, Silver, a makeup artist, was employed. Because of their mutual attraction, he hired her for additional projects. 2012 saw the eventual marriage of Van Dyke and Silver.
