The Eagles defeated the New York Giants 33-25 on Christmas Day to move their record to 3-0 all-time. The Eagles’ record now stands at 11-4, and they have a one-game advantage over the Dallas Cowboys for the top spot in the NFC East.

Giants

QB Jalen Hurts led the Birds with 335 yards of total offense, while running back D’Andre Swift rushed for 92 yards and a touchdown. As time ran out, rookie cornerback Kelee Ringo’s first career interception sealed the victory.

Adoree’ Jackson’s 76-yard pick-six put the Giants within two points of the Eagles going into the fourth quarter. The score was tied at five points with 5:22 left after a 69-yard touchdown pass from backup quarterback Tyrod Taylor to Darius Slayton. Nevertheless, Philadelphia steadily gained the upper hand and managed to secure a 33-25 triumph in the dying seconds of play.

The Philadelphia Eagles defeated the New York Giants to deliver the City of Brotherly Love the ultimate Christmas gift, despite the fact that it wasn’t under anyone’s tree this morning.

It appeared as though the Eagles easily defeated the New York Giants, which was much needed. They had a 17-point lead at the half and were heavy favorites. When it appeared that the first half would end with a field goal because Jalen Hurts failed to get out of bounds during a scramble, Giants linebacker Bobby Okereke received an inexcusable delay of game penalty, which resulted in a gift. That looked like the kind of error that poor teams commit when losing by a wide margin.

The initial Quarter

Britain With a 54-yard return on the opening punt of the game, Covey put the Eagles on the New York 13-yard line.

With eight minutes remaining in the first quarter, Mason Crosby just managed to get far enough to make a 52-yard field goal. (Pelicans 3, Eagles 7)

Touchdown

Jalen Hurts scored the Shove goal. D’Andre Swift gained the offense position on the 1-yard line with a 12-yard rush on the drive’s opening play.

With his 15th rushing touchdown of the year, Hurts broke Cam Newton’s record for the most rushing touchdowns by a quarterback in a single season (14 in 2011), setting a new NFL record. (Giants 0 – Eagles 7)

A field goal: 14:53 remained in the first half when Elliott made his first field goal of the contest, a 28-yard attempt. A fourth-down conversion by Dallas Goedert and a spectacular pass and catch by Hurts to Grant Calcaterra following a poor snap kept the eighteen-play drive alive.

But after missing a red zone conversion, the Eagles were only able to muster three points. (Giants 3, Eagles 10).

In Third Quarter

The Eagles had to pay the Giants. With 13:41 left in the quarter, Barkley ran a 7-yard touchdown rush into the end zone while remaining unspotted. The veteran ran for 14 yards on all three of the plays. (Giants 10, Eagles 20)

In the third quarter, the Giants outscored the Eagles 15-0, with cornerback Adoree’ Jackson scoring a 76-yard pick-six. The Giants entered the fourth quarter with a 20-18 lead after converting a two-point play. But Philadelphia answered right away, extending the lead back to two possessions with an eight-play, 75-yard touchdown drive.

With 9 seconds remaining in the quarter, Jackson intercepted a pass from Hurts and returned it to the house for a 76-yard touchdown. Barkley successfully broke out of the Wildcat formation and raced into the end zone. (Giants 18, Eagles 20)

On third and fourth and 1, the Giants were unable to convert. Taylor’s pass to tight end Darren Waller fell incomplete on third down.

Immediately after, on the second play of the drive, the Giants answered back. For a 70-yard touchdown, Taylor found Darius Slayton down the left sideline. (Giants 25, Eagles 30)

A field Goal! With 1:10 left in the game, Elliott made his fourth field goal of the contest, a 43-yard kick. (Giants 25, Eagles 33)

A last-ditch pass to the end zone by Taylor was intercepted by Kelee Ringo, who gained his first career pick and helped the Eagles win.

Tomon Fox, an outside linebacker, was promoted by the Giants from the practice squad.
